Hermosa Beach

Hermosa Beach

Overview

This little town lies on the shore of the Pacific Ocean between Manhattan Beach to the north and Redondo Beach to the south. The ultimate outdoors city, with glorious Southern California weather, Hermosa Beach is the best site for beach volleyball and hosts several tournaments every year. The surfing is great and the city is the site of the International Surf Festival, alternating with three other beach towns. The iconic statue of Tim Kelly, a surfer and lifeguard, sits at the foot of the Hermosa Beach Pier.

Sunshine, Sand, and Waves

The pier juts 1000 feet out into the ocean and is a favorite place for photographers, walkers, fishermen, and people who appreciate beauty. The street that runs straight to the base of the pier is called Pier Avenue and it ends at Pier Plaza, a busy shopping mall with lots of top notch restaurants and cafes. The plaza and the Pier are the sites of festivals and events through the year. Hermosa Beach is a happening kind of town.

Like the other beach towns, Hermosa Beach has an eclectic population of all sorts. Less than 20,000 people live in the small town. Also like the towns around it, the schools in Hermosa Beach are rated among the best in California. Sound nice to you? Then Hermosa Beach may just be the California home you’ve been looking for.
