South Pasadena

South Pasadena

Overview

South of Pasadena and east of Los Angeles, sitting in the San Gabriel Valley, is South Pasadena. A small town with a population of 25,000, South Pasadena is known for the greenery that graces its streets. Trees, mostly California natives including redwoods and sequoia, are everywhere. Because there are very few palm trees, the city is frequently used as a backdrop for movie and television scenes supposedly set in many other parts of the country. It can resemble anywhere from Maine to Minnesota.

The City of Trees

A great community, South Pasadena is a lively town with concerts, parades and festivals scattered through the year. Excellent restaurants with varied cuisine, small coffee shops, art galleries, antique stores and shopping centers are situated among the trees. A botanical garden and a golf course, museums and music venues offer entertainment. And the city is close to everything in Los Angeles.

A large percentage of the population rents homes in South Pasadena. The schools consistently rank in the top twenty in California – so it’s great if you have kids and even if you don’t! Come see the green city of South Pasadena. You may fall in love.
